The Power of Vibration for Spiritual Invitation

I love the holidays! When I was a teacher, I built lessons around fictional and informational holiday-themed reading selections and writing prompts. Every year, we decorate our space just enough to embrace the vibes of each holiday, and I've spent many an hour working on holiday projects and treats with my girls. Both of them are terrified of the scary side of Halloween, so we definitely focus on the fun and friendly aspects of the holiday at my house.

Unfortunately for them (and me by extension), one of our neighbors loves the scary side of Halloween, and their home enthusiastically shows it. As any parent does in this situation, I turned it into a life lesson for them, but we've come up with strategies to avoid looking at the more grotesque elements of their decorations on our drive in and out of the neighborhood each day.

Now that the backstory has been explained, I can get to the point of this post: the power of vibration.

Earlier in the week, I started feeling unsettled in the house again and felt like someone was watching me. I hadn't felt this way in a few weeks (read about it here!) and immediately cleansed the house. By bedtime, I was feeling mostly better but a little on edge, particularly when I walked into my younger daughter's room and felt a slight heaviness. After tucking her in, I asked Archangel Ariel to be with her and protect her. Less than five minutes later, she called me back in and said she heard a scratching sound.

I went back into her room, sat with her, and listened for the sound, which she said she only heard when she was lying down. After not hearing anything, I told her to call me if she heard it again, and then I promptly sat in the living room and said the following prayer:

"I ask that only beings of the light and those that do not have malicious intent toward us be allowed to remain in this space while all others are released. I ask that this space be surrounded and protected by white light." After asking several Archangels and my grandfather to stay with and protect my girls, I immediately became aware of an entity standing in the middle of the living room.

It was very tall, thin, and bony. It had gray skin, was hunched over, and had very thin, stringy black hair. Its face was skeletal.

In that moment, I tried very hard to think about what I could have watched or listened to that could have invited this being into my home, but came up with nothing. It wasn't until I remembered the neighbor's Halloween decorations that it made sense.

This being had been attracted to the vibrations created by the horror display in the yard.

I told the being that it was not welcome to stay in my home, and that he needed to return to where he came from...but it didn't leave until I specifically said it needed to return to the neighbor's yard. Then it left. While I have been aware of its energy from time to time, it had never returned to my home.

Long story short, the vibrations we create through our experiences or from what is around us are very real. It is important to be mindful of what we can invite into our own lives through what we choose to experience and focus on, and remind ourselves that while we can't always control what is outside of ourselves, we can always create positivity and peace in our own lives through our personal choices.

Happy Halloween!
