Weekly Exercise: Music

Exercise: Take time each day this week to do any of the following:

  • Write down any songs or particular song lyrics that pop into your head and then listen to that song. Why do you think you were drawn to it? List any themes, emotions, or elements the song or band/musical group makes you think of.

  • During periods of solitude or downtime, listen to any Nature sound you feel drawn to and notice how it makes you feel, particularly from a physical or emotional standpoint.

  • Take time for a morning or nightly meditation (for however long you can spare!) and listen to any type of holistic tune or tone (ex: singing bowls, chanting, bamboo flute, etc), holding the intention of releasing what is no longer beneficial for your while opening yourself up to love.

  • Listen to instrumental music while commuting through traffic and take notice of your mental, emotional, and physical bodies once you arrive at your destination.

  • If you play an instrument, make time each day (for however long you can spare!) to do so and take notice of your mental, emotional, and physical bodies while you are playing and once you have finished.
